AIWiser is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. It applies to all visitors and learners of AIWiser.io.
1. Who We Are
AIWiser is the data controller responsible for your personal data. AIWiser is an AI education platform helping individuals, professionals, entrepreneurs and businesses learn to use artificial intelligence in practical ways. All learning content is free and requires no account.

2. Data We Collect
AIWiser has no user accounts, no payments and no sign-up forms, so we collect very little personal data.
2.1 Technical & Usage Data
Our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited and timestamps. This data is used to keep the platform secure and to improve the user experience.
2.2 Communications
If you contact us by email we keep the content of the message and your contact details so we can reply and keep a record of the request.
2.3 Learning Progress
Your course progress (which lessons you have marked as complete) is stored only in your own browser, using localStorage. It never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser data erases it.
3. Legal Basis
Under UK GDPR Article 6, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests – to keep the platform secure, prevent abuse, debug issues and improve our courses and content. We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms.
- Legal obligation – to comply with applicable laws where they require us to retain or disclose information.
- Consent – for any purpose where consent is required by law. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. How We Use Data
We use the data described above to:
- reply to your questions and provide support;
- protect the platform against fraud, abuse and security threats;
- understand, in aggregate, how the platform is used;
- meet our legal obligations.
6. International Transfers
Some of our processors (notably our hosting provider and Google) are based in the United States or operate global infrastructure. When personal data leaves the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we ensure an appropriate safeguard is in place, such as:
- a UK or EU adequacy decision covering the destination country;
- the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum;
- the EU-US and UK-US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified.

7. Data Retention
- Support correspondence: up to 3 years after the exchange is closed.
- Server & security logs: normally up to 12 months, longer if needed to investigate an incident.
- Learning progress: stored only in your browser. We never hold it, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete.
8. Your Rights
You have the following rights over your personal data:
- Right of access – request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification – ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure – ask us to delete your data where we no longer need it, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Right to restrict processing – ask us to pause processing while a dispute is resolved.
- Right to data portability – receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object – object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent – where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
- Right not to be subject to automated decisions – we do not take legal or significant decisions about you using automated means alone.
To exercise any of these rights, email christine@aiwiser.io. We will respond within one month. If you believe we have not handled your data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
10. Security
We take security seriously and apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including:
- HTTPS / TLS encryption for all traffic between you and our servers;
- a fully static website with no database and no user accounts, which drastically reduces the attack surface;
- restricted access to our hosting and deployment tools;
- regular software updates and security patches.
No system is completely secure. In the unlikely event of a personal data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you and the ICO in line with UK GDPR Article 34.
11. Minors
AIWiser is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when laws change or when we add new features. The current version is always published on this page with the “Last updated” date. When the change is significant, we will post a notice on the platform before the new version takes effect.
